Running the Distance - week 1

Students run short distances and then play a game of Mr Man or it could be called Ms Woman to gain an understanding of the variation intensities of physical activity has on their bodies. As a result, they will recognise and feel the effects of vigorous, moderate and low intensity physical activity.

Exercising your Body - week 2

Students will perform a playground circuit which includes activities based on three major fitness components. If performed regularly, these types of activities can help enhance students’ health and wellbeing.

Colourful Fruits & Vegetables - week 3

Students will develop a “Colourful Fruit & Vegetable” poster to illustrate their knowledge and understanding of the many different varieties of fruits and vegetables.

PMP - week 4

Students will participate in activities based on the Perceptual Motor Program (PMP).

Ball Time - week 5

Students will play with a selection of different balls. The students will be made aware of the need to drink adequate water while participating in any physical activity.

Students will participate in a “Treasure Hunt” to find exercise treasure cards placed around the school yard.

Food Basics - week 7

Students will create a collage classifying food into three categories: Everyday Foods, Think About Foods and Occasional Foods, using pictures from magazines, newspapers, the Internet and catalogues as well as food packaging and their own drawings.
